I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
